4 Days 3 Nights of Adventure
There’s something truly special about exploring the Cape by bicycle — the pace is slower, the air is fresher, and every moment feels more connected. The Wine & Wildlife Cycling Adventure brings together the best of both worlds: riding from cellar to cellar through scenic vineyards, then trading grapes for game as you cycle among wildlife in a private reserve not open to the public.
This four-day journey is about more than just cycling. It’s about carefully chosen routes, exceptional food and wine, relaxed evenings around the fire, and unforgettable moments immersed in nature. It’s a curated experience designed to stay with you long after the last glass is poured and the final ride is done.
A Unique Blend of Vineyards and Wilderness
This fully guided adventure takes you through rolling countryside, past vineyards and historic estates, and into a private wildlife reserve where nature takes centre stage. It’s a seamless combination of Winelands charm and raw natural beauty, offering a rare opportunity to experience both in one unforgettable trip.
Each day is balanced with time in the saddle and time to slow down — to taste, to rest, to connect, and to take in the landscape. Evenings are relaxed and welcoming, with shared meals, storytelling around the campfire, and stargazing in peaceful surroundings.
Daily Highlights
Day 1 – Arrival (Thursday)
Your adventure begins at Reeds Country Lodge in Worcester, with arrival at approximately 12:00 pm. Guests who arrive around lunchtime can enjoy a short, relaxed introductory ride in the afternoon — the perfect way to settle in and get comfortable on the bike.
Those arriving closer to 17:00 will miss the afternoon ride but will join the group for an evening dinner and briefing, where the journey officially begins and the days ahead are shared.
Days 1–2 – Winelands Cycling
(Thursday afternoon & Friday)
The first part of the adventure takes you through the heart of the Cape Winelands. Quiet country roads lead past vineyards and sweeping views, with carefully selected wine tastings and scenic stops along the way.
These days are about finding a rhythm — riding, tasting, pausing, and soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. It’s a relaxed balance that allows you to fully enjoy both the cycling and the experience.
Days 3–4 – Wildlife Cycling
(Saturday & Sunday morning)
The setting shifts as you leave the vineyards behind and enter a private game farm. Here, you’ll spend two days cycling among free-roaming wildlife, with excellent chances of spotting antelope and other species in their natural environment.
This is a rare and immersive experience. The quiet of the bush, the sense of space, and the presence of wildlife make these rides truly unforgettable.
Departure – Day 4 (Sunday)
Sunday morning is flexible. You can enjoy an optional short ride or simply relax and take in the final moments of the journey. The adventure concludes after brunch, with a suggested departure around 12:00 pm.
